Ostseekiste (Baltic Sea Box)

The project "Baltic Sea Box - Educational workshops on sustainable use of the habitat Baltic Sea" follows the successful series of EUCC-D’s previous educational projects "MeerSehen", "Meer im Fokus" and "Küstenschule".

In cooperation with the German Youth Hostel Association - State Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (DJH MV) EUCC-D will provide thematic workshops focused on sea and coast in selected hostels from the school year 2015/16 on. For the hostels, which are located near the Baltic Sea, EUCC-D will develop an educational and subject-specific program.   This program will provideyoung visitors an active analysis of the marine environment as a complex construct of economic, environmental, social, and cultural areas and interactions. For each thematic workshop  EUCC-D will provide a box with a variety of materials, which will motivate the young generation to come into contact with the Baltic Sea.

Tasks of the EUCC-Germany: project management, development of an educational and subject-specific concept, designing thematic workshops and boxes, public relations, evaluation etc.
